Dr. Kurlan graduated from the University of Rochester and Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Neurology and fellowship in Movement Disorders and Experimental Therapeutics at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He was on the faculty of the Department of Neurology at the University of Rochester from 1984 to 2009, serving as Professor and chief of the Movement Disorders and Cognitive and Behavioral Disorders units. He gained an international reputation for excellence in clinical care and research, with more than 200 scientific publications. He was a founding member of the Parkinson Study Group and leader of the Tourette Syndrome Study Group, multicenter collaborative research organizations. He has been named a “Best Doctor” both locally and nationally for many years and has received several other awards. Dr. Kurlan moved to New Jersey in 2010 and previously served as director of Movement disorders at the Atlantic Neuroscience Center at Overlook Medical Center. Dr. Kurlan started KSN in 2018. Dr. Kurlan treats patients with a wide age range, from young children to older adults.
